Which Safari Zone to Choose
There is no single best zone. There is a best zone for your dates, and this guide helps you find it.
By length of stay
- One or two nights: Bijrani or Jhirna, close to the Ramnagar side.
- Three to four nights: combine two zones, e.g. Bijrani plus Jhirna or Dhela.
- Longer stays: add Dhikala or a newer route.
By season
Most zones are open roughly mid-November to mid-June; Jhirna has historically been open through the year (confirm with us). In the monsoon, ask us which zone is available.
By interest
- Grassland and elephants: Dhikala.
- Birdwatching: Jhirna, Dhela.
- Quieter feel: Phato, Durgadevi, Sitabani.
- Easy first safari: Bijrani, Garjia.
Honest note
Any claim that one zone guarantees tigers is marketing. Use this as a way to match landscape and logistics, and be ready for surprises.
